Hello, I’m Shalina!

Hi, I’m Shalina! I’m a Master of Social Work student intern at Therapy by the Bay, where I provide case management and care coordination services under licensed clinical supervision. My role is focused on helping clients navigate the practical, often overwhelming parts of accessing care so they do not have to figure everything out on their own.

I support clients with understanding insurance benefits, finding referrals for psychiatrists, dietitians, higher levels of care, and community resources, and applying for benefits such as SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, and SSDI. I also help with follow-through by breaking tasks into manageable steps, assisting with scheduling, and helping clients stay connected to the resources they need.

I approach this work from a trauma-informed and nonjudgmental perspective. I believe barriers to care are often systemic, not personal, and I enjoy helping clients feel more supported, informed, and empowered as they access the services and stability they deserve.
